SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

All our LMI systems are fully compliant with SANS 15442:2007 and ISO 15442:2005(E), Clause 5.6.1.1, which states:

“Rated capacity limiters and indicators shall be provided on all cranes having a rated capacity of 3 000 kg or more.”

This ensures reliable overload protection, prevention of overturning, and safe operation in line with South African and international requirements.

BLMI (BASIC LOAD INDICATOR SYSTEM)

A reliable and cost-effective overload prevention system that delivers critical crane protection in real time.
 

Key Features:

  • Warns operator at 90% crane load capacity
  • Automatically disables crane at 100% capacity via dump valve
  • Visual Warning Devices (SANS 15442:2007 Clause 5.6.4– Warning and Indicating Devices)
  • ◦ Green = Safe
  • ◦ Yellow = 90% capacity
  • ◦ Red = 100% capacity
  • Acoustic Warning Device (SANS 15442:2007 Clause 5.6.7 – Acoustic Warning)
  • Emergency Stop Function (SANS 15442:2007 Clause 5.6.8 – Emergency Stop)
  • Calibrated using crane’s Ton-Meter load chart
  • Derating and Dual-Zone Stability Control (Optional, if applicable) (SANS 15442:2007 Clause 5.6.1.2 – Stability and Operating Limits)

Safety Procedure:

  •  In the event of overload, press the safety button and lower/retract the load within 3 seconds. If overload persists, wait 3 minutes before retrying
